TMSA Thanksgiving Food Drive

PORCH-Durham is a grassroots, community-wide hunger relief organization. PORCH-Durham collects food in support of the Backpack Buddies program sponsored by the Interfaith Food Shuttle. Weekly, this program provides over 400 backpacks with food for the weekend to those children most in need within five Durham Public Schools.

Please bring in any of the needed items before Tuesday, 11/19 to be placed in backpacks for the upcoming holidays! All donations can be left on the front steps of Lisa Zerden’s home. See your email or contact trianglemedspouse@gmail.com for her information.

Items most needed include (NO GLASS!)
 Cans of soup/stew with meat and vegetables
 Cans of Cans of Cans of tuna and chicken
 Cans of vegetables and beans of all kinds
 Cans of fruit esp. mandarin oranges, peaches, and pineapple
 In stant oatmeal and other low-sugar cereals
 Macaroni and cheese
 Ramen noodles, rice-a-roni packets
 Peanut butter (An excellent item since it lasts longer!)
 Healthy snacks: trail mix, raisins, cereal bars, pretzels, etc.

Playgroup Update

We are excited to announce the 2013-2014 TMSA Playgroups will be Wednesday and Thursday mornings. If you've been wondering about joining a playgroup, please let us know and we're happy to answer any questions you may have.

September Family Social

Join Triangle Medical Spouse for September's Family Social at the Carolina Inn.  We will be listening to some lively music on the Front Porch.  At the entrance (facing the Carolina Inn), go directly to the right to find other TMSA members.  Bring a blanket and some food and enjoy!

SECU Dinner Thank You

Thank you to all who prepared food and/or helped at the SECU dinner on Sunday night. We served dinner to 25 guests, talked with them, and enjoyed providing a great need.  We had plenty of extra food that will be used by others staying at the house who could not make it back from the hospital in time for dinner. We left plenty of desserts for them to enjoy in the days to come! 

It was an honor to bless these people who are receiving outpatient services at the hospital or have family in the hospital for long-term illness or injury. Thank you all for rising to the challenge and bringing more than enough food and hands to make the evening a success.

We gathered at Home Depot for their monthly Kids Workshop. Each child made a birdhouse using real tools. Lots of fun!  We finished our morning with a group lunch at Moe's. Come out and join us for our next family social later this month.

14th Annual Holiday Bazaar was a success!

Hi members!

I just wanted to send a HUGE shout out to everyone who helped to make this year's Holiday Bazaar a success! HUGE! We raised even more money than last year--$6000 to benefit the NC Children's Hospital! And I am seriously impressed with the bakers we have in our group...impressive treats! This event is a huge undertaking every year, and we couldn't pull it off without your help, so Thank You, THANK YOU!

14th Annual Holiday Bazaar

On December 12th, the Triangle Medical Spouse Alliance will conduct the 14th Annual Holiday Bazaar in the NC Children's Hospital lobby. More than 60 Vendors from all over North Carolina will be selling art, pottery, jewelry, toys, books, holiday decorations, skin care products, and other unique gifts. The proceeds benefit the children of UNC Hospitals. Please come out to support the cause and get a great  start on fun and unique holiday shopping!

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
